CS PhD opportunity in UniSA
Dr Ivan Lee at University of South Australia is looking for one PhDstudent for a project on multi-target tracking using computer vision,
for the following applications:
* particle tracking in medical image sequences captured using a
Synchrotron for evaluating respiratory system treatment
* tracking and modelling snail movements in an open field
The student will have an opportunity to access the Synchrotron imaging
system, and eResearchSA's high performance computers. The student is
expected to use C/C++, Python, Matlab and OpenCV in this project.
The University of South Australia ranks ~15 in Australia (depending on
which ranking agencies), which is a decent rank for a university with no
medical school. The successful applicant will receive a scholarship
which includes the tuition-fee waiver + living allowance at AUD 25,000.
Requirements:
1) A Bachelor or Master degree in electrical engineering or computer
science from a top 30 university in China;
2) Prior experience in undertaking research projects;
3) GPA > 80 averaged from year 2 to year 4 (inclusive);
4) Solid programming skills;
5) English: IELTS (overall>= 6.5 all >=6.0), TOEFL PBT (>= 577 and TWE>=5.0), or TOEFL IBT (>=90, all bands >=20).
